Road bikes back in fashion

Standard

For past 15 or so years I have been using almost exclusively mountain bikes. But the road bikes have come back to fashion recently. Thanks to the 80′ vintage Peugeot bellow, thanks to everyday ride Steinwiess to Technopark strasse and back and thanks to Thomas. Like it even there are a couple of drawbacks with it – the frame is too small for me and the brakes do not work well. But maybe it is just a prelude and training to ride a brakeless fixie :)

Boring … but two user experience improving highlights

Standard

You may noticed Apple events started to be just copycats of itself. There is nothing new in the format. And what is worse there is not much new interesting things in its content neither although all those glitzy words “revolutionary”, “all new” or “best ever”. The whole show just became boring … thiner, faster, lighter all that we have seen last time and time before last time too :( My two highlights from yesterday are more simple iTunes and Lightning connector that fits both ways. First one desperately needed it as it became super bloated over the years. We have to wait for hands on, but it looks promising. The second is something I appreciate as the best from yesterday – there is still someone at Apple thinking how the people use the products. It is super small change, but imagine how much time, effort and frustration will be saved by not playing with finding the proper way to connect the connector. Respect!

Bad choice, but a great movie – Gomorrah

Standard

Wanted to see a movie – something not much sophisticated and easy to watch. We carefully avoided Ulrich Seidl’s Import/Export because of that, but somehow we chose Gomorrah which I thought would have been just another gangster movie. What a mistake! It quickly turned out that it was not going to be “entertainment” at all. But after seeing it I must put my thumb definitely up. Get the glimpse bellow. And for those who have seen and liked, I recommend Il Divo or A Prophet.
