Little Red Riding Hood remixed

Standard

Could a fairytale have a remix? I have just read an interesting “version” of Little Red Riding Hood as a part in otherwise boring larger story. Anyway what would you say on this…

The grandmother is old bitch who is really mean to the mother and Little Red Riding Hood. She must have wine and cake for her birthday otherwise she would be very agry. So the mother packs the stuff and sends Little Red Riding Hood to the grandmother. By the way Little Red Riding Hood is 16 years old chick. Anyway once in the forrest whe meets a wolf, who is actually nice. They discuss their stories and the wolf cries out his loneliness. So Little Red Riding Hood offers him to join her and go to grandmother’s house together. Grandmother did not even bothered to wait for Little Red Rifing Hood and went out to meet her friend for a drink. So Little Red Riding Hood and wolf make a small party at grandmother place. They drink the wine and eat half of the cake and just leaving a note to the grandmother, because she did not show up. When the grandmother returns  home later she realizes her mistakes and amends.

Find it in Devil’s Heel undergroud fairytale compilation.

Upstream Color

Standard

Finally I have seen Upstream Color – long awaited “one man show” movie. Written, directed, produced, shot, co-edited, musical score composed all by Shane Carruth. I was quite curious as I read the article in Wired about him and his previous movie almost 10 years old Primer. I just roughly remember I tried to watch Primer but I was not excited much by it and did not even finish it. But the article built my interest. Upstream Color is a sort o chameleon probably similar to his creator – drama, thriller, love story, sci-fi, mystery … all these change in rapid pace as the actual scenes to suddenly stop in one loooong take. But by far the best this movie has extraordinary ambient/industrial soundtrack – 10/10! This is the piece of its own.

Time has probably come to try Primer again.

New PR!

Standard

This is a personal record – more than 63 thousand steps and 41 kilometers of walking last week. It will be hard to beat as I expect much more cycling and less walking in upcoming weeks… A sort of a new challenge on the other side. Anyway it is nice to collect a few hundreds/thousand steps for a new day when returning from U Houdku after midnight :)

Steel city

Standard

Roughly after 10 years I have visited Vitkovice again. It is not abandoned and rusted steel factory only anymore (I’ll try to find the pics from that first visit to compare later this week), but a living place with galleries, expositions, tours, concerts and more. This time we went with kids to Science and Technology center Ostrava. It is as the place suggests and unlike other similar places (such as Technorama in Winterthur) dedicated to explain steel production and the products made from it such as cars, trains, planes, ships, etc. On the other hand the similarity with other science centers is the kids love it – spent half a day over there. There are two more science and technology options for poor weather days with kids: IQ Park in Liberec and Techmania in Plzen.

Freeride, Scratches & Discovery

Standard

The highlight of this winter was a weekend trip to Gastein and freeriding there on Kreuzkogel and Stubnerkogel. During that I:

  • Did the deepest scratch ever way to the core of the board (click to enlarge and zoom) when jumping off avalanche blocking fence. They seemed to be so wooden from the lift, damn.
  • Realized Pieps Freeride avalanche transciever is just a toy. In comparison to Ortovox 3+ and S1 we had last year it took ages to locate burried testing one. If anybody knows where to rent Ortovoxes in Prague please let me know.
  • Spotted Discovery spaceship like viewpoint at the top of Kreuzkogel. Remind there is same style bar in the middle of the downhill back to Sportgastein :)
