Since Draco showed me this vid, I had to watch it for few more times, because i wasn't able to believe my own eyes (and am still can't ;)).
The company which made this is the 1st one I know about that made really photorealistic computer animation. This time it looks like interview with real person, but actually all they made, was capture few grimasses of actress on video and from that they made photorealistic 3D model and whole "virtual" interview.

There was a nice interview with Håkon Wium Lie on root.cz about his fortcomming visit in Prague and his work at CERN and lately at Opera Software.
One question was about Acid2 test, which will test if your browser uses web stadards or not. So i tested both browsers I use at work ... Internet Explorer and FireFox 2.0.0.9. Well here are the results:
How it should look like
FireFox 2.0.0.9
Internet Explorer 6.0 (aka corporate standard in BNPP)
So here's the link to this nice test.
Well, and as a bonus, I'll add also Acid3 test ... Well my FF made it to 54 points and page looked (in basic shapes) as intended one. My IE did 12 points (yeah, that many!) and i have to search for result for some time in that color, text, number mish mash which IE diplayed. Acid3 test.

Hmmmm, EEG based interface for controlling games / computer for $299? Yea, my dream is going to come true. Tho am bit woried about response times of this device. Ok, they can always make enhanced version as their research will go on.
My guess is that for Quake (or FPS games generally) this won't be such a good idea, but for some strategy / MMO it can be quite nice tool to have. Anyway if this will be available here in CZ am going to buy it just for the proper cyberpunk feeling :)
I think, it's just about a time to develop some new interface / style of using computers ... you know mouse'n'board is with us for soooooo long time so I think it's time to develop something new. Ok, the Viis controlers are only small revolution, but imo good step in right direction.
Chek it out!

What the phunk is this? Am just deinstalling MS Office 2007 from colleagues laptop and as always I have taks manager running and am checking load of system. Guess what task manager says? It's simple, the process of deinstalation is so complex task that system load is jumping from 70% to 99% of CPU time used... muhahahahaha!
You can have a bonus there, just move mouse cursor over screen and load will jump to interval of 85% to 99% :) Ah sorry, if you continously move mouse cursor over screen you will have 100% load of CPU, no jumping, just 100% all the time. I think this is a wonderfull show of programming skillz of guys at MS.
Which brings question about laptops battery life ... my guess is that battery life of common laptop running on Win XP is like 2 hours 30 mins, same notebook running on Vista will have like 1:20 mins, perhaps lower.
P.S. Best of the best is checking system load while system is idle (aka your not doing anything) ... interval of 10% to 30% of CPU load.
